Packs of ASDA 6 white muffins have been found to be contaminated with peanut residue. The muffins are labelled as 'Nut Free', but contain traces of peanut.
The company has undertaken a product recall of packs of ADSA 6 white muffins, priced at 35 pence, and arranged for in-store recall notices. A Product Recall Notice will be published in tomorrow's newspapers. All date codes are being withdrawn from sale with immediate effect. No other ASDA brand muffins are known to be affected.

Despite rigorous quality control measures, ASDA has been made aware of a potential issue with the above product. Although it is labelled as 'nut free', it may in fact contain traces of peanut.
As a precautionary measure, ASDA has immediately withdrawn this product from sale and is asking customers who have bought this product, and who have a nut allergy condition, to return the item immediately to any ASDA store for a full refund.
