Heads of Environmental Health Services and Directors of Trading Standards will wish to be aware of a product recall by Danfood Ltd of two varieties of Spinnaker soup in 400g cans due to microbial post process contamination with Bacillus cereus. The products were manufactured by Munkebo Seafood A/S, Denmark.
The Products Recalled Are:
Spinnaker Clam Chowder Soup 400g
Best before 31.12.06
Spinnaker Seafood Gumbo Soup 400g
Best before 31.12.06
No other Spinnaker products are known to be affected.
Danfood Ltd have issued a product recall notice (see below) in the national newspapers which will appear as from today.

Tests have identified a fault, which may affect the high standard of the above canned soups.
We are recalling these products, which could have been purchased from a number of retailers, as a precautionary measure.
These products should not be consumed.
If you have any of these items please return them to the store you purchased them from for a full refund.
No other variety of Spinnaker Canned Soups is affected.
