Heads of Environmental Health Services and Directors of Trading Standards will wish to be aware of a voluntary product recall of a batch of Farley's Breakfast Sunrise Banana Cereal.
This is due to a very small number of packs being incorrectly filled with a different recipe.
The incorrect recipe is suitable for infants from 7 months old not 4 months old, and contains wheat and egg which may cause an allergic reaction in a few sensitive infants.
Farley's have issued a product recall notice in today's national press as below:
"FARLEY'S
PRODUCT RECALL
NOTICE
Farley's Breakfast Sunrise Banana
From 4 months, 125g
Farley's is announcing a voluntary and precautionary recall of its Farley's Breakfast Sunrise Banana from 4 months with the batch code 1ST AUG 2003 LOT 206D.
This precautionary recall is because a very small number of packs of Sunrise Banana with this specific batch code have been incorrectly filled with a different Farley's recipe.
The incorrect recipe is suitable from 7 months not 4 months, and contains wheat and egg.
The presence of these ingredients is not shown on the incorrectly filled Sunrise Banana packaging and feeding this product could cause an allergic reaction in a few sensitive infants.
Only Farley's Breakfast Sunrise Banana from 4 months with the batch code 1ST AUG 2003 LOT 206D, which is found on the base of the pack, is being withdrawn.
All other Farley's products can continue to be used in complete confidence.
THIS ONLY AFFECTS FARLEY'S BREAKFAST SUNRISE BANANA FROM 4 MONTHS WITH THE ABOVE BATCH CODE. OTHER CODES OF THIS PRODUCT ARE NOT BEING WITHDRAWN AND NO OTHER FARLEY'S PRODUCT IS INVOLVED.
If you have any packs of this product with this batch code, please dispose of the contents.
Please then return the complete outer packaging together with your name and address in block capitals, to Farley's at the address below. You will receive a voucher to cover the full value of the product.
