Heads of Environmental Health Services and Directors of Trading Standards will wish to be aware of the results of recent testing by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) in Northern Ireland. The results complete a survey undertaken by DARD to test chicken for residues of nitrofurans. The Food Standards Agency has today issued a press release (see below) about the testing, which may also be found on the website (www.food.gov.uk) along with a questions and answers sheet for consumers.
